Bestsellers of 2020… so far
We’re all avid motorcyclists at EP HQ and always look forward to seeing what the manufacturers are going to launch next. But when it comes to picking a make and model to ride ourselves, we all have our preference and it’s not always the latest models. For example, Chris’s (EP director) bike of choice would be a Yamaha R7, whereas Dan (EP director) would choose a Honda RC30.
As a manufacturer of high quality motorcycle accessories, it’s no surprise that we take a big interest in what you’re buying too, and according to stats released by the MCIA, motorcycle registrations were up 2.8% in January, compared with 2019, and 2% up on February. Needless to say, registrations have taken a bit of a dip in the past two months as we continue to navigate the challenges of the Covid-19 outbreak, although the industry predicts a bounce back over the coming months.
The top registered categories over the past four months have been naked, scooter, adventure sport and trail/enduro, with surprisingly, the retro-styled Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 featuring at the top of the nakeds. Unsurprisingly, BMW R 1250 GS registrations topped the adventure sport category for two months running and in fact, the German manufacturer recently reported that this particular model accounted for a third of all global sales in 2019!
Other ‘big bikes’ to feature in the top registrations from January to April 2020 include the Yamaha Tracer 700 and the BMW S 1000 RR although that said, Honda still remains the most popular brand across all categories.
Evotech Performance bestsellers
“When it comes to Evotech Performance’s bestsellers, Honda is usually always at the top of the list – in particular, we’ve seen huge demand for the CB650R Neo Sports Café and CBR650R in recent weeks. That said, the 2020 KTM 1290 Superduke, Ducati Streetfighter V4 and Multistrada have also been really popular models.” - EP team
