Here at Evotech Performance we love motorcycles. That’s not news. But did you know that not only do we love a sunny day’s ride on the undulating roads of the Lincolnshire Wolds, but within the workforce at EP HQ we have many different types of motorcycle rider? From the obvious road and racetrack speed machines to trials riding, enduro, beach-racing and flat-track, we love motorcycles in all their forms. And after riding our bikes, we need to maintain our bikes. Regardless of how we ride, care of our motorcycles is essential to keep the wheels turning.
A messy chore that no one ever looks forward to is lubricating the chain. Every motorbike rider at Evotech knows if we don’t regularly clean and lubricate the motorcycle chain it is liable to corrosion, wear and heat due to increased friction. That’s before we consider the dangers of an unmaintained chain failing during a ride.
There is such a variety of chain lubricant on the market you cannot fail to find one that is best suited to you and your motorcycle, but whichever you choose, applying it to the chain is always a challenge. The original applicator supplied with lubricants will shower the slick substance everywhere apart from where it is wanted. It’s disheartening to think of the cost of the wasted lubricant and that’s before we even consider the real safety issue of slippery lube covering the floor or motorcycle wheels. The simple solution from the Evotech design team is the Evotech Motorcycle Chain Lubricator Kit.
Fabricated from a strong yet flexible polyurethane rubber, the Evotech chain lubricator can be quickly slipped onto the chain. The lubricant is sprayed through the clear silicon tube and onto the chain using the EP lubricator’s internal jet system, delivering the lubricant to exactly where it's required. Thus, the job becomes easier, cleaner and more efficient. That’s a big win in our book.

In 2021, we supported John Milbank at Bennetts Bike Social with his investigation into the best chain lubes on the market. He tested 54 different brands, on metal discs which we were able to supply, and one without lubricant. Whilst his findings are well worth a read, we can’t help noticing that even a seasoned professional as he is struggles to control the spray of lubricant.
