We love getting feedback from our customers – your reviews help us to further develop and improve our products as well as fabricate Evotech parts of the future. We were also particularly pleased to hear this recent feedback on our Brake and Clutch Lever Guards, Radiator Guard and Action Cam Mount from Fast Bikes Magazine's Bruce Wilson.
“If ever there were a problem with having a bike so brilliant, so well finished and so perfect in its box-fresh form, it’s the question of how you can add to it? That’s been a mind-boggler for me year long with the SP2, relentlessly wondering what is worthy of adjoining the masterpiece, which comes so bloody awesomely built and spec’d from its Bologna base that there’s not much need to go fettling. As any of you that likewise enjoy going round and round on circuits to pass the time will know, lever guards are a must nowadays, or at least that is to say that front brake levers require covering to meet most UK circuit’s H&S requisites… so I went in search of one.
“But not just any old lever guard; I wanted one that would be worthy of a place on the bike. I didn’t have to look far. About fifteen miles, truth be told, to Evotech Performance, who are just down the road from me and have a cracking range of guards, covers and much, much more for most contemporary motorcycles. And that’s when the next problem hit. Having scanned their website and seen just what they had to offer, that initial need for a single lever guard rapidly grew to a list as long as a Politian’s expenses.
“Rad guards were added to the mix, because stoned radiators are not much fun. And the same thought process encouraged me to get a fuel cell cover for under seat unit, that could likewise suffer some damage if ever someone started firing rocks, stones or any other such projectiles my way. And to make sure I could capture any such assailants in the process of attacking me, Evotech’s front mudguard action camera mount was a no brainer. Last but not least, the shopping was concluded by the thing I went for in the first place – a brake lever guard. And I got the clutch side too, to make sure the aforementioned didn’t get lonely.
“Fitting all of the items was a joy. I’m always weary when it comes to replacing stock parts with anything aftermarket, especially when they require new lengths of bolts and such like, but the EP stuff went on a treat, with the biggest ball-ache being having to remove the lower fairings to get the rad guards fitted. Still, a few bruised knuckles and a shed-load of swearing seemed a worthy exchange for the peace of mind that came from having the epic looking covers in place. I know that first and foremost they’re there to protect the bike, but they actually add to it aesthetically too, in my opinion. And the same should be said of the fuel cell cover, which looked the nuts when fitted in place.
“Unsurprisingly, I was soon loving the look and feel of the lever guards. I’m not normally a fan of using guards, as I ride with my hands right towards the end of the bars, so often find my fingers ‘locked-in’, but the EP options don’t make me feel that way. They’re sleek in their design and that’s maybe why they don’t bother me, made all the better by their performance enhancing guise. They look right on the bike, along with the other bits I’ve mentioned. The only out of place item is the action camera mount, because it protrudes from the bike’s otherwise flowing disposition, but it literally wouldn’t work if it were hugging the guard too closely. More to the point, the bigger picture is that the video footage on tap, whether pointed forwards or backwards, is brilliant. I’ve only ever used the camera fitted on the circuit but was loving the imagery that came about from it, regardless of which direction it was facing. If capturing footage is your thing, this mount is a no brainer, and the good news is that EP do loads more mount options too.”
