Why do I need an Evotech Side Stand Extension with Riser Plate?

Installing the Evotech Side Stand Extension / Riser Plate will increase the OE side stand’s footprint, height and reduce the park angle of the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure Trophy. Such an addition has many noticeable benefits: increased stability on a range of terrains, larger side stand surface area, and a rise of 12mm, reducing the lean angle by 3-4 degrees. Evotech’s lower plate is produced from billet aluminium with a corrosion-resistant powder-coating. The foot of the OE BMW kick stand is secured in place with a precision-shaped stainless steel top plate, following the online video.

Must have for 1300 GSA

The stock 1300 GSA sits way too far over when on the sidestand. Mine has adaptive height and it was not comfortable to park even with the suspension lowered. I have to believe the non adjustable suspension makes this problem worse. The Evotech side stand extension brings the bike up several degrees toward vertical. It makes putting the bike on the side stand not feel like it is going to fall over, especially on an uneven surface. It also makes getting the bike vertical from the sidestand significantly easier. As a bonus it has a larger footprint for softer surfaces to avoid sinking and a fallen bike. Well engineered, attractive, and easy to install. It is also priced just above what most companies get for just a side stand foot enlarger.
