disappointed that the guard was 80% plastic. I chose this because it the only engine guard that covers high up exposed front part of engine. Front mud guard is short and hence everything off front tyre hits the front of the the engine. It’s quite short on protection on the underside covering only the x pipe and cat. Engine sump and oil filter exposed. Fits well but it piece of plastic and not what I was expecting from Evotech. It’s right under the cat so hopefully the plastic will handle the heat long term. Triumph twins are known to run hot so let’s hope Evotech did their testing. Value? It’s a personal thing I leave to decide based on your own criteria.
Product is great but Triumph dont make it easy to remove and replace the bolt. Really inaccessible and the lug nut pinged up out of sight.
Evotech Performance guys were brilliant and went out of their way to help. Now it's on it looks really good and keeps the muck off the lower frame.
I have been asked why I chose this product over the others. Firstly I had a few questions regarding the construction and design which were fully answered by Evotech. The reasons are as follows:
Only product that covers frame and rad pipe.
Covers catalytic converter and deflects debris away from the sump and oil filter.
Ease of fitment without having to remove sidestand.
Lightweight being tough plastic with metal centre shield which is removable for cleaning.
Does not hang as far below the frame as other manufacturers.
Looks great and does not detract from the bike.
Hope this helps anybody trying to choose a belly plate.
Fits and looks great but it is a bit expensive considering it is mostly made of plastic.
I have no Technical ability and fitted the guard relatively easily (usual bit of swearing when dropping things). Not cheap, but you can see the quality and it is tailored to fit snuggly around rad pipes etc. Be aware that this guard is not 100% metal
