Why should I fit an EP Brake Lever Protector Kit?

EP’s Brake Lever Protectors were born on the race track, devised to prevent accidental application of the brakes. By fitting an Evotech Brake Lever Protector Kit (Race) to the Yamaha YZF-R6, the motorcycle will be road and track day ready; many race day companies and race circuits make brake protection a requirement before you can ride. EP Brake Protectors come with the added benefit of bike-specific Bar End Weights. Evotech’s more compact Race handlebar weights are machined from stainless steel, more durable and heavier than the original bar ends, which help to reduce high frequency vibrations that can impact a racer’s hands.  

 

Note: When fitting Evotech Brake Lever Protector Kits, it is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the motorcycle’s throttle action (correct free-play, smooth opening and closing of the throttle, etc) is not impaired in any way. EP Brake Lever Protector Kits are designed to be used only with the OE throttle tube and handlebar grip.

Next day delivery

  • Monday to Thursday orders placed before 12pm midday will ship the same day for next day delivery (excludes bank holidays)

Very misleading item! Beware!

I bought this item for my 17 R6 track bike. As with any track bike, I have aftermarket clip-ons.
These 100% absolutely do not fit any kind of clip-on except stock, as per the email from their customer service:

"All brake protectors are designed around the OE bars. Unfortunately, we do not currently manufacture brake protectors to work with Renthal bars."

I'm not knocking the quality of their product, but there is absolutely no difference between their road and race items. To call these "race" is entirely misleading.

Their customer service has been great, but this is a tremendous hassle to send back as international shipping is involved. I never would have bought these if they would've been forthcoming about the fact that these do not fit anything except stock clip-ons.
