Why should I switch to an Evotech Tail Tidy on my BMW R 1200 RS?

Following the sleek lines of the BMW R 1200 RS motorcycle, the Evotech Tail Tidy replaces the long rear fender for a shorter, cleaner rear licence plate display. With a custom design that guarantees an accurate fit to the rear, the EP tail tidy is suppled with an additional bracket to be used dependent on whether motorcycle panniers are fitted. Crafted from aircraft grade aluminium with Evotech’s durable yet discreet powder-coating and a vacuum formed undertray, the EP part gives a sleek, factory-style finish.

 

Note: The Evotech Tail Tidy can be fitted to the BMR R 1200 RS with or without the BMW panniers. We have supplied a choice of bracket to be used dependent if panniers are used or not.

Delivery

  • UK – Royal Mail 48hrs to 72hrs – Expected delivery time of 2-3 working days
  • Europe – UPS Standard – Expected delivery time of 4-5 working days
  • Europe and rest of the world – Royal Mail Airmail (International Priority):
    • Europe – 6-8 working days
    • Rest of the world – 8-15 working days
  • Europe and rest of the world – UPS Express – 2-3 working days
  • Europe and rest of the world – UPS Express Saver – 4-5 working days
  • Please also note that following the UK’s exit from the EU on 31 January 2021, we have become aware of some additional charges, which are payable when your parcel reaches the destination country. These include small disbursement fees or handling fees on orders placed with UPS or Royal Mail. These additional charges are dependent on the destination country. 

Next day delivery

  • Monday to Thursday orders placed before 12pm midday will ship the same day for next day delivery (excludes bank holidays)
  • Friday orders by 12:00 midday are expected to be delivered on Monday (excludes bank holidays)
  • Saturday and Sunday orders are expected to be delivered the following Tuesday (excludes bank holidays)
  • Bank holidays and weekend orders will normally be shipped next working day.

Ok, but…

First thing is, thanks for the long and short versions. The short doesn’t fit with panniers. The second thing is, it’s too narrow for a UK number plate, as fitted by my local BMW dealer… the position of the indicators means that the number plate has to be cut down to reach the top of the tail tidy… Unless you have another solution, of course. Not best pleased, for £160. Hay ho.
