Is it worth fitting Evotech Crash Protection to my BMW F 900?

Evotech Crash Bobbins for the BMW F 900 R Triple Black are incredibly easy to fit and could prove the difference between a few scratches and scrapes or an expensive repair bill. Should a spill occur, the Evotech crash bungs extend from the side of the motorcycle, hoping to receive an impact first. The nylon polymer bungs have a reinforcing aluminium corner for added strength and can be replaced individually if necessary. Fitted to existing mounting points, with a bespoke design, the Evotech protective parts follow the EP mantra - no alterations or modifications required to the motorcycle.

Brilliant. What did you expect from EvoTech…??

These are big. Very big. But then they have to be to do their job.

Once they are on the bike, they seem to disappear a bit, and blend into the bike quite well. Mine is Triple Black, so that may be partly why. Nevertheless they look like they are supposed to be there and suit the bike well.

From appearance, the quality and size of the hardware and knowing how good EvoTech stuff is, I have no doubt that these will perform admirably if they need to.

Fitting was super easy. You need a T55 Torx socket (for the OE bolts) and a 10mm hex socket (for the kits bolts), a breaker bar (to remove the OE bolts) and a torque wrench (to fit the kit). My BMW dealer told me the torque setting needed was 100nm. These are engine mounting bolts, the engine is a stressed member in the frame, so the torque needs to be right. No guessing it “seems about right”. You may regret it!
