Quality goods and quickly delivered but let down by wrong information in regards to fitting and when told about it I just got a ( return it).
If you're fitting this rad guard to a 2023 model, you need to make the following alterations as a previous buyer commented on.
Firstly, you need to trim the inside of the plastic side radiator panels to remove the small tongue shaped extrusions (4 off) as this makes contact with the radiator guard corner bracket, so they're impossible to fit.
Secondly, you'll have to use a dremel or a fine file to remove a small portion of the corner top brackets as this digs in to the plastic side panel when refitting these panels. A bit of a pain but its doable. Evotech, please note this needs altering for the latest model R1250R 2023 onwards.
Having used Evotech products before I’ve been really happy in the past but this radiator guard is listed as 2019+.
My bike is a 2024 sport SE with the black plastic cowels, the radiator guard fits but when you try to refit the plastic cowels they will not fit correctly. You need to grind away a part of the cowel then I had to glue a spacer to prevent the radiator guard top edge pushing from the inside to prevent leaving a mark on the outside of the panel (I learnt the hard way).
If you do a quick Google search you will find pictures from a few people who have had the same problem.
Please sort this out Evotech.
The 2023 r1250r has two thin plastic location cleats moulded into the plastic side pods around the top & bottom fixing points either side of the rad. These have to be removed to allow them to be be refitted after this rad guard has been installed. A very easy thing to do, the side pods fit back securely & is worth it imo for the protection the rad guard gives you. As always, EV Performance quality is excellent.
If you have an R1250R with plastic side pods, you will need to cut off the locating flanges near the mounting holes. Could do with some Roadster specific instructions.
Good quality item that looks great.
