Why does my Yamaha need Evotech lever guards fitting?

The Evotech Brake and Clutch Lever Protector Kit (Race) brings two clear benefits to the Yamaha XSR700. Firstly, the aerodynamic aluminium lever protectors shape around the motorcycle levers, aiming to block unexpected interference from other road users or natural obstacles whilst riding. Such lever protection is deemed so important in the UK that brake protection is an essential requirement for racing or track days. Secondly, the integrated bar ends are produced from stainless steel, with the more compact Race size still adding weight to each handlebar end. Adding weight can assist the reduction of high-frequency vibrations resulting in a more comfortable grip on the handlebars. Each of the handlebar end parts has accurate fitting and is finished with a sleek, durable powder-coating, for a stylish finish to the handlebars.

Note: When fitting Evotech Brake and Clutch Lever Protector Kits, it is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the motorcycle’s throttle action (correct free-play, smooth opening and closing of the throttle, etc) is not impaired in any way. EP Brake and Clutch Lever Protector Kits are designed to be used only with the OE throttle tube and handlebar grip.
