Why do I need an Evotech Side Stand Extension with Riser Plate?

Installing the Evotech Side Stand Extension / Riser Plate will increase the OE side stand’s height and reduce the park angle of the BMW R 1300 GS Triple Black (DSA option). Such an addition has many benefits: increased stability on a range of terrains, larger side stand surface area, and a rise of 12mm, reducing the lean angle by 3-4 degrees. Evotech’s lower plate is manufactured from billet aluminium with a corrosion-resistant powder-coating. The foot of the OE side stand is then secured in place with a precision-shaped stainless steel top plate. Fitting is easy, following the online video instructions with all the required fasteners included in the kit.

Great side stand extender

Usual high quality from Evotech and looks great when fitted. Gives enough of a rise to make lifting the bike off the side stand appreciably easier without making the bike too upright when it’s on the side stand. No fouling the centre stand or anything else when the side stand is up. Very simple to install, no instructions required. Minimal and recyclable packaging too. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent Product

I purchased the Evotech side stand extension because I am a short rider and have difficulty in getting my R1300 GS upright when on the side stand. This helps enormously and also gives a larger footprint to the side stand. The extension was easy to fit and matches the bike perfectly. It is important to use some form of loctite on the screws.

Good product and well made,
Could do with a bolt included to **** into the stand, providing clearance between the new foot and the centre stand extension arm,
I turned down a stainless bolt myself to enable this,
I also used 243 locktite in the Allen bolts just incase they came loose so a small tube of this would be a nice addition
