Charging Into The Future: Evotech Motorcycle USB Charger
In our 21st century lives, connectivity is inescapable. Even when cresting hills, cruising valleys or crossing cityscapes on our two wheels, we now heavily rely on electronic devices. Whether it’s GPS enabled sat nav or mobile calls blue-toothed straight to your helmet, the world is still with us whilst the wheels are still turning.
And what do all these devices need? Power.
When your eyes are on the road, the last thing you need on your mind is ‘will my sat nav have enough power to get me there?’ Or ‘will my phone battery last all day?’
Thus, Evotech Performance now offer the Evotech Motorcycle Charger as part of the growing suite of Evotech motorcycle accessories.
Available to purchase with either a USB-A or USB-C connector, the Evotech Motorcycle Charger has a 2.2-metre-long cable allowing for a variety of different installation positions, wherever is best suited to your individual charging needs. Also included in the kit are a variety of fixing accessories to support installation as you like it.
Getting the USB charger wet in inclement conditions won’t be a problem either thanks to the weather-resistant cable cover and water-and-dust-proof connector cap.
There are also options for how the USB charger can deliver charge from the motorcycle’s battery to your device: Power Off After Removing the Key or Continuous Power On. Depending on which is your preferred option, the wire installation is slightly different.
Power Off After Removing the Key
If you wish to power the devices that are supporting your ride, this is the option for you. Whilst the motorcycle is running, power is supplied down the charging cable to the device. Once the key is removed/ignition is switched off, the power supply ends. For this, the cables should be installed as:
- Red = Connect to positive (+) terminal on the motorcycle battery
- Black = Connect to negative (-) terminal on the motorcycle battery
- White = Connect to the ACC key switch
Continuous Power On
For charging devices even when the motorcycle is not running, power will continuously run on the cable.
- Red = Connect to positive (+) terminal on the motorcycle battery
- Black = Connect to negative (-) terminal on the motorcycle battery
- White = Connect to positive (+) terminal on the motorcycle battery
As with any Evotech part, fitting instructions can be found on the product sale page on the Evotech Performance website. If you are unsure, please refer to a motorcycle maintenance professional or feel free to give us a call at Evotech Performance.
