Here we go again… BSB is back!
Drop the flag, pop the champagne - BSB was back with a bang at Silverstone over a glorious Easter weekend!
After two Covid-disrupted years, it was great to see huge crowds flock to the historic circuit as the cream of the crop returned for another season of British Superbike action.
Evotech Performance is proud to support many teams in the BSB paddock with high quality EP parts including Radiator Guards and bespoke bracketry, although it was an especially memorable start to the season for one team in particular, as Glenn Irwin took a hat-trick of wins for Honda Racing UK. It was a stunning display from Glenn on his CBR1000RR Fireblade, particularly as he is still recovering from serious injuries sustained in pre-season testing. And he dedicated the victories to the whole team – proving once again what a top job the technicians do behind-the-scenes!
Irwin now leads the early season standings by 29 points from Kyle Ryde, who took two seconds for Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha, with Rory Skinner third overall for FS-3 Racing Kawasaki. Last year’s champion Tarran Mackenzie was absent for McAMS Yamaha after breaking his ankle recently, with team-mate Jason O’Halloran picking up three top-six finishes for the Fleetwood-based outfit.
The early rounds are always difficult for the teams after a hectic winter – next up for the paddock is a trip to Oulton Park for testing this week before racing at the Cheshire track 30 April-2 May.
Did you know that the same skills and technology used to produce the EP parts you see on-track are used to fabricate our road-going EP accessories? Arguably, there’s no tougher test of our motorcycle components! Shop the full EP collection by the make, model and year of bike here.
