Why fit an EP Radiator Guard?

Radiators are designed and positioned to maximise the cooling effect of passing airflow to help maintain a consistent engine running temperature. Unfortunately, because of their 'open' position, coolers are prone to damage from road debris. The standard CBR1000RR SP radiator's delicate cooling fins and internal core are prone from being 'shot blasted' or punctured by stones, grit etc. Damaged or bent fins can cause engine overheating. The EP guard greatly reduces the chances of the radiator being damaged or, worse, holed - leaking coolant can cause rapid overheating, which can lead to engine damage.

Basic product great. Complete funt clap to fit. Instructions dire. Removing left hand cowl is a nightmare on bike. This needs more guidance. Broke air intake and infill panel which makes me sound real clumsy, but trust me I'm not - never happened to me before in the last 30 years of working on bikes. Better instructions would have prevented this, but lack of info and the usual need to be a little committed in removing these panels led to unnecessary breakage. So an order in to Honda for £100 odd of infill panels going in tomorrow. Not a calamity, but could have been. Better instructions please Evotech.
