The guards arrived next day, well packed and protected. Fittings and fixings for each guard individually packed. The appearance and finish appears high quality as does the design and manufacture. I was reluctant to buy a quality bike and hang poor quality or lousy looking accessories on it.
I had reviewed and printed the fitting instructions. These were unclear in places, the clarity of the pictures not matching the quality of the product.
The oil cooler guard clipped neatly into place but the plastic ties are a bit nasty. Time will tell how these last with the heat. I regret not replacing them with stainless steel ties, readily available.
The two holes, in the radiator upper brackets needed opening out, as per others experiences. This is easy enough as the guards are made from a soft aluminium. Make sure you deburr afterwards.
All the screws and brackets fitted without modification, if a little fiddly. The foam backers, i guess there to stop the guards rattling, dropped off a couple of times, before fitting, frustratingly just as I was easing the radiator guard into position.
In conclusion, an essential investment, both radiator and oil cooler fins had minor damage after 1700 miles. The Evotech guards take time and patience to fit, about 3 hours start to finish but easier that fitting a replacement radiator or oil cooler.
Very nice and quality product but the instructions are just ridiculous 🙈🙈 horrible pictures and difficult to understand… even Aprilias official mechanic couldn’t figure it out exactly what to do. Not mentioning that you need to reassemble almost half of the front end of the bike 🙈
Assembly instruction could be better, it took me and a great motorcycle mechanic 1,5 h to get the job done. Minor adjustment needed to fit the original oil radiator plastic cover over the protector.
...and by "Critical Improvement" what I really mean is that this is one absolutely critical improvement that should be made to any Aprilia Tuono V4 (or RSV). The radiator is VERY exposed and this guard makes me feel much, much safer now that I have installed it. It is a lovely quality piece of kit and the eco friendly packaging is excellent. If I have two small comments to make; it's a bit of a shame that it's not available in silver and it's a tad tricky to install. I am The Great cackhanded destroyer and still managed to get it fitted properly altough it did take a few hours. Finally, it would be nice if the fitted instructions were included as a printed document as having to refer to a screen is a little annoying. To sum up, a quality piece of essential equipment. Just a pity that Aprilia don't factory install one to protect the vulnerable radiators.
High quality items that look great and fit my 2022 Aprilia Tuono V4 perfectly.
Only criticism I can offer is the online instructions are not the best. Actual pictures instead of black & white sketches would be MUCH better.
