The product arrived well packaged and immediately gave the impression of being a high-quality, well-engineered item. Installation was fairly straightforward, although removing and refitting the rubber anchors required some perseverance. I also found that not attaching the TomTom mount to the swivel before fitting was a mistake—though easily corrected.
However, concerns became apparent on the first ride. The sat nav exhibits noticeable vibration, making it difficult to read at times—something no doubt exacerbated by typical UK road surfaces. More frustratingly, despite tightening the mount as much as possible, the unit gradually rotates downward during use, suggesting the locking washers are not performing as intended.
A further concern is the additional weight the mount places on the screen mechanism. This seems to increase vibration in that area, and I question whether this could lead to longer-term wear or damage.
Overall, while the mount appears well made and I had high expectations, the real-world performance has been disappointing.
