Do I need an Evotech Tank Extender?

The honest answer is that depends on the size of the rider! Whilst the seat size for the KTM 990 RC R remains constant, the size of each rider can vary to quite a degree. The Evotech Race Fuel Tank Pad pushes the rider’s seat position further backwards, for improved control or comfort whilst offering authentic race bike aesthetics. Originally requested by race teams hoping to achieve a greater aerodynamic ride position, the Evotech Tank Pads can now be purchased for your KTM 990 RC R.

Delivery

  • UK – Royal Mail 48hrs to 72hrs – Expected delivery time of 2-3 working days
  • Europe – UPS Standard – Expected delivery time of 4-5 working days
  • Europe and rest of the world – Royal Mail Airmail (International Priority):
    • Europe – 6-8 working days
    • Rest of the world – 8-15 working days
  • Europe and rest of the world – UPS Express – 2-3 working days
  • Europe and rest of the world – UPS Express Saver – 4-5 working days
  • Please also note that following the UK’s exit from the EU on 31 January 2021, we have become aware of some additional charges, which are payable when your parcel reaches the destination country. Next day delivery

  • Monday to Thursday orders placed before 12pm midday will ship the same day for next day delivery (excludes bank holidays)
  • Friday orders by 12:00 midday are expected to be delivered on Monday (excludes bank holidays)
  • Saturday and Sunday orders are expected to be delivered the following Tuesday (excludes bank holidays)
  • Bank holidays and weekend orders will normally be shipped next working day.

Makes it feel like an older bike but in the best way!

This is exactly what you’re hoping it will be. It creates the perfect contact point for your outside knee when hanging off the bike and makes it much easier to feel planted and supported. It does make moving around the bike with both feet on the ground slightly more awkward, but that is a small and completely worthwhile tradeoff. The extender fits the shape and contour of the tank perfectly and looks like it belongs there. The only issue I had was the adhesive separating from the Velcro. I ended up attaching it with emblem and trim adhesive, which has worked perfectly, although that obviously makes it more difficult to remove and reinstall than the original Velcro setup. Overall, I’m extremely happy with it and the install issue could have been entirely my fault. Just know that it does exactly what it appears to do and once you ride with it, you’ll definitely love it.
