Why is a motorcycle oil cooler guard necessary?

The EP oil cooler guard helps protect the Honda VFR800X Crossrunner oil cooler from road debris damage; damage that occurs when stones are picked up and thrown by the front tyre or other traffic. The oil cooler is predominantly made up of delicate cooling fins that easily bend; within the cooler there is an internal core of pipework that can be damaged beyond safe repair. Misaligned cooling fins block passing air and this can lead to the engine overheating. If the core's oil galleries are holed it will cause loss of oil pressure with a high possibility of engine damage. Leaking oil will also cause loss of grip if it reaches the motorcycle's tyres.

  • Europe and rest of the world – UPS Express Saver – 4-5 working days
  • Please also note that following the UK’s exit from the EU on 31 January 2021, we have become aware of some additional charges, which are payable when your parcel reaches the destination country. Next day delivery

  • Monday to Thursday orders placed before 12pm midday will ship the same day for next day delivery (excludes bank holidays)
  • Friday orders by 12:00 midday are expected to be delivered on Monday (excludes bank holidays)
  • Saturday and Sunday orders are expected to be delivered the following Tuesday (excludes bank holidays)
  • Bank holidays and weekend orders will normally be shipped next working day.
